German Theater Production: A Virtual Summer Camp Experience! Lights, camera, action—auf Deutsch! This unique virtual summer camp invites novice and proficient bilingual German-speaking kids of all ages to step into the spotlight! Over the course of one exciting week, campers will collaborate to rehearse, create, and perform a short German play—complete with character roles, props, and costumes. Perfect for kids who love storytelling, acting, and speaking German, this camp builds confidence, language fluency, and creativity through project-based learning and daily performance-based activities. Project-Based Learning: Create & Perform a German Play Throughout the week, students will: - Discover popular German fairy tales and children’s theater - Practice speaking with expression, emotion, and stage presence - Learn how to use body language, props, and imagination to bring characters to life - Rehearse their lines with a team and prepare for a final performance By the end of the week, students will perform their chosen play live on Google Meet for family and friends—and receive a recording to treasure and share! What to Expect: - Daily Warm-ups, Group Rehearsals & Theater Games - Character Role Assignments (actors, narrator, stage directions & more) - Creative Time for Props & Costumes (DIY or virtual) - Confidence-Building Activities and Teamwork - Final Live Performance + Video Recording for Families We meet every day from 11am ET- 1:20pm ET (this includes a 20 minute break).
